Glep is one of the two Smiling Friends deuteragonists alongside Alan. He is a small green creature who is an employee of Smiling Friends Inc. Glep mostly speaks in rapid gibberish. Despite this, Glep is understood by most actors. Others beyond this have not yet evolved to hear his vocal range. He also hates Ed Sheeran with a burning passion.
Appearance
Body
Glep is a small green creature that has very small arms and legs. His eyes are under his mouth. He has no intestinal tract and instead has a miniature black hole that takes up the space where his organs would be.
Clothes
Glep wears a purple wizard-style hat. In the special episode “The Smiling Friends Go to Brazil!”, this hat is replaced with a similarly colored baseball cap, giving Glep a more “touristy” look. In “Frowning Friends”, he dons the security uniform of a rival company. In the “Stupid Halloween Special”, his costume resembles Ronald Reagan (with wife Marge Simpson dressed as Nancy Reagan).
Personality
Glep is a lazy creature with a wide range of emotions. He is easily irritated, as shown on many occasions, one example being when Alan asks if he took a paper clip in “Desmond’s Big Day Out”.
Background
We are helping Desmond
In “Desmond’s Big Day Out”, Glep is seen on a beanbag chair in the main office. Later, he is still shown on the bean bag, now watching a video on his tablet. While looking for the missing paper clip, Alan asks Glep if he took it, causing Glep to become angry with him.
After Desmond finds meaning in life with Desmond’s Bliblie Control, Glep is seen cleaning up the mess left by the Bliblie infestation. When the creature falls out of the TV in the office, Glep runs away in terror.
Replacing Mr. Frog
In “Mr. Frog”, Glep auditions to replace Mr. Frog after his fire. When he walks in, Glep is initially mocked by Rex because of his appearance, Glep retaliates by spitting on him, leading Rex to hire Glep, telling his producer that he had ‘that bad boy edge’ like the real one mr frog Glep then does a happy dance.
During the reading, Glep reads his script, where he adds spitting to the end of his lines, which will become the central gag of the new show. Rex warns Glep not to do this because the studio considers it toxic. At the rehearsal, Glep continues to spit his lines, causing Rex to attack him. In response, Glep gets angry and his attitude changes.
While filming the new Mr. Frog Show is irritated by Glep and is slow in his lines. The new show receives a negative response from the audience, which is a shock to Rex, and Glep is not surprised. After Mr. Frog absorbs Rex, Glep’s time on the show ends as Mr. Frog’s career is revived.
Relation ships
Pim Pimling
Glep hasn’t been seen interacting much with Pim on the show yet, but they seem to be quite friendly with each other.
Charlie Dompler
Glep has also not been shown to interact much with Charlie, but is also friendly with him. Charlie is seen annoying him during “Frowning Friends”, punching him between the legs for not sticking to his smiling friends. He is seen at Charlie’s funeral during “Charlie Dies and Won’t Come Back”, mourning his death.
